Why I Created - Creative Current Connection

Lately, I’ve been thinking a lot about why we create.
And maybe even more — why we stop.

It’s not always burnout. It’s not always time.
Sometimes we just get quiet.
We wonder if it matters.
We tell ourselves we’ll start again when we have something more “worthwhile” to show.

And while I love a well-set intention or a good, slow goal, I’ve realized the thing I’ve craved most — and what so many of the women I work with keep asking for — isn’t structure.

It’s connection.

Not the shiny kind. Not the “I launched a thing” or “here’s my masterpiece” kind.

The real kind.
The “here’s what I scribbled in my notebook today” kind.
The “I found an old embroidery project and it made me cry” kind.
The “I lit a candle, doodled badly, and that was enough” kind.

So I created a new space:
A free, private Facebook group called Creative Current Connection — for women who want to stay gently connected to their creativity, and to each other.

Here’s what it isn’t:

  • It’s not a course.

  • It’s not a challenge.

  • It’s not a place to be productive, impressive, or “on.”

And here’s what it is:

  • A place to post your unfinished work

  • A space to admit you haven’t felt creative in weeks

  • A hub for sharing little sparks: a moment of whimsy, a song that moved you, a drawing on a napkin, a poem you found again

I’ll be in there, sharing prompts, rituals, and occasional invitations. But mostly? I hope it becomes a place where we remind each other we’re not alone in the swirl.

We don’t have to perform our creativity.
We just have to stay near it.
And each other.

If that’s something your spirit’s been longing for, you’re so invited.
🌊 Join us here

With love and messy middle magic,
Jess
